Physicochemical Properties: Reddish-brown powder. Soluble in water (reddish-orange to brownish-red), slightly soluble in ethanol (golden yellow). In concentrated sulfuric acid, it appears bright red, turning reddish-orange upon dilution. The dye solution turns orange-brown with concentrated sodium hydroxide and red with concentrated hydrochloric acid. Sensitive to hard water.
Applications: Dyes cotton or viscose reddish-orange with poor migration and high sensitivity to salt. Suitable for direct printing on cotton or viscose and for adjusting shades when combined with other colors. Also used for silk, wool, vinylon, and nylon fabrics, as well as paper pulp. Maximum affinity for cellulose fibers occurs at 60–80°C, suitable for neutral or weakly alkaline dyeing.
