Physicochemical Properties: Dark blue powder. Insoluble in cold water; slightly soluble in hot water and ethanol (bright blue). In concentrated sulfuric acid, it appears orange-red, turning blue upon dilution. The aqueous solution forms purple precipitation with sodium hydroxide solution.
Applications: Used for dyeing and direct printing on wool, silk, and nylon fabrics, as well as for coloring leather, paper, and feathers.
