Physicochemical Properties: Reddish-orange powder. Soluble in water (golden-orange) and ethanol (golden-orange). In sulfuric acid, it appears orange, unchanged upon dilution. Aqueous solutions turn orange with hydrochloric acid and yellowish-brown with sodium hydroxide.
Applications: Mainly for dyeing and printing wool, silk, nylon, and blends. Offers good penetration and dischargeability. A dedicated nylon dye; also for paper, hemp, leather, and straw coloring.
