Physicochemical Properties: Dark navy-blue powder, highly soluble in water (purple) and ethanol (bluish-purple). In concentrated sulfuric acid, it appears reddish-yellow, turning light green upon dilution; in concentrated nitric acid, it appears bluish-green. The aqueous solution turns light dull purple with sodium hydroxide solution.

Applications: Primarily used for wool dyeing, producing very bright shades but with low lightfastness. Suitable for direct printing on wool, silk, and nylon fabrics, as well as leather coloring. Insensitive to sodium dichromate, making it suitable for blending with mordant dyes.
