Physicochemical Properties: Yellow powder. Highly soluble in water, ethanol, acetone, and Cellosolve; slightly soluble in benzene; insoluble in other organic solvents. In concentrated sulfuric acid, it appears yellow, remaining yellow upon dilution. Resistant to nitric acid, maintaining a yellow hue. Aqueous solutions show no change with 10% sulfuric acid or sodium hydroxide.
Applications: Primarily for dyeing wool in strong acid baths, silk in acetic acid baths, and nylon in formic acid baths. Suitable for direct printing on wool fabrics, leather dyeing, and producing color lakes. Also used for surface coloring of paper, coatings, pharmaceuticals, and cosmetics.
