Physicochemical Properties: Grayish-black powder. Insoluble in hydrochloric acid, sodium hydroxide, and organic solvents. In concentrated sulfuric acid, it forms a black solution. Poor water solubility; aqueous solution is blue. Slight color change with copper ions; turns yellowish-dark with iron ions. Excellent reduction resistance.
Applications: For dyeing cotton, viscose, silk, and blends. Generally not used for printing. Exhibits medium migration, good leveling, but poor dye uptake. Natural cooling to 50°C enhances exhaustion. Compatible with disperse dyes for polyester/viscose blends. Offers good lightfastness but poor washfastness, suitable for low-wash fabrics.
